Jonathan Alvin Ph.D. – Clinical Psychologist and Founder

Jonathan received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology in 2022 and became licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of Illinois in 2023. In 2024, Jonathan opened Wonder Institute for Psychological Health in Wheaton, Illinois with an interest in providing high quality of psychoanalytic psychotherapy to people in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. 

Jonathan has undergone advanced training for treating adults who suffer from a wide variety of symptoms in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Jonathan teaches psychoanalytic psychotherapy to doctoral psychology students at Wheaton College.

Jonathan has also trained in administering and interpreting psychological and neuropsychological assessments and providing diagnosis as well as providing affirming care to the LGBTQAI+ community. 

Jonathan’s research interests include a variety of topics from the psychoanalytic tradition including Freud, Winnicott, and Bion as well as traumatic experiences of annihilation, destuction, and cultural trauma.
